Affiliate Marketing Website
Affiliate Marketing Website shows you what you need to do to set up an Affiliate Marketing Website to make money at home.
Many people think that all you need to do to make money online is to get an affiliate link and post it anywhere and everywhere and they will make loads of money. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. That is why so many affiliate marketers fail or make very little money.
In order to get people to buy your offers, you need to be an authority figure in your chosen niche. You have to build a reputation for offering great products.
People also need to know where to find you. The best way to do this is with a website. It shows that you have faith in what you are offering.

DISCLAIMER: This post and description contain affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the links and decide to make a product purchase, a small commission will be paid to us.
This helps support our channel and allows us to continue to make awesome posts for you guys.
For legal reasons, I had to post the above disclaimer.
Let’s get on with creating the website.
The first thing you need to do is come up with a name for your website. There are a few ways of getting a name but this post will look at the two most popular.
The first one is to look for domain name suppliers. Just type domain names into the search engines and it will give you a list of where you can get a domain name from. My favourite is a company called Namecheap. You can get a domain name for under $10 and it is a one-off payment.
If you want more details about choosing a domain name the check out this wp beginner’s guide.
The second way to get a domain name is through your hosting company who offer you a facility to find a domain name. We will look at hosting below.
How To Get Web Hosting For Your Website?
I will guide you through getting web hosting with SiteGround but the method is similar to other web hosting companies.
Click Here To Get SiteGround Web Hosting
The first thing you need to decide on is the type of hosting plan you want.
Let’s look at some of the options.
Just click the get plan button below the option that suits you best.
You will then be taken to a page where you can choose your domain name.
Unfortunately, SiteGround does not offer free domain names, but it is only a small cost of about $10.

Click proceed to go to the next step.
The following box will appear.

The first section is where you add your email and password. I recommend that you use some form of password generator to help stop your account getting hacked.
Below that you will come to the payment area. There are a couple of things to watch out for here.
Payment Information.
Firstly, check that the right plan is displayed
Note that the 12-month term is selected by default. If you decide to go for the one month trial instead, you will have to pay the set-up fee as well. This is how they make their money.
Check the ‘Hosting Price’ field, which displays your special introductory rate as well as your future renewal rate.
Next you will come to the payment section which will look something like this.

Beneath that you will see a box about your purchase information.

Once you click purchase, your card will be charged, so make sure all your information is correct.

Once you have made your payment a message is sent to your email. You need to confirm this email. You are given about 24 hours to do this, but it is best to do this as soon as possible so that you don’t forget to do it.

Clicking the button will take you to a page where you can verify by a phone call or text message.
The next step is to verify your credit card. You will see the following message.
You will receive 2 emails from SiteGround. The first one saying “Thanks for purchasing SiteGround.com services” The second one says “Welcome Aboard” with a button to access your user’s area. When you click on the Go to users area, the following will appear.
Once you enter your user name and password you can begin setting up your website.
How To Create Your Website?
This is where the fun starts. We will look at some of the basics of setting up a website.
When you first log in to your website it will be blank as shown below.
When you first start setting up your blog or website, a lot of people want to to be perfect. It will never be perfect. What you want to do is get a website up and running.
Before you start setting up your website there are a few things you need to do first.
Pre-Design Tasks.
The first task is to clean out your demo data. Go to the black menu on the left-hand side of the screen and click on posts. You will see a Hello World post. Click on the trash button underneath the post. Next, go to the pages are on the left-hand side of your screen and click on it. Again, click on trash underneath it along with the sample page. In the left-hand menu, click on comments and you will see a demo comment. Trash this as well. Next click on plugins in the menu bar and the first thing you need to do is deactivate them. When you have deactivated them, only then can you delete them.
Next, go to settings in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen. Click on general and scroll down to time zone.
Click the drop-down arrow and pick your nearest major city. You can also choose your time stamp, what day of the week you start on etc.
Next in the settings tab, go to permalinks.
Select post name as your permalink and save changes at the bottom.
That’s the Pre-design clean up done. Now it is time to select a theme.
Selecting A Theme For Your Post.
When you first log into your blog you will see that it is totally blank. Now it is time to select a theme for your website.
To choose a theme, click on the appearance tab in the left-hand menu bar and then themes.
You might have some themes already selected by default. We will delete those in a minute. The default themes often get hacked because everyone seems to choose those. First, we are going to select a new theme. You do this by selecting the add new theme button at the tip of the page.
A page will open showing you all the themes available.
One theme that I would recommend is Astra because it is very stable and secure. To find this theme, go to the box in the top right-hand corner of the page, type in astra and click on the magnifying glass. This will then take you to the astra theme.
The next thing to do is install it. This is done by clicking the blue button beneath it. After that click the active button to turn it on. Once it is turned on you can delete the other themes.
You need to delete unused themes because leaving them on your site unused is a way for hackers to get onto your site and make changes to it. To delete a theme just click on it and theme details will appear. Click on it to be taken to the page. When the page opens up, scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit delete. You might see a message saying do you want to delete? Just click delete.
Do this to all the themes apart for the one you have chosen.
How To Install Astro Demo Content?
Astra has a lot of options to can install. To do this, go to the Appearance tab in the left-hand menu. Go to astra options.
Click on the call to action button on the right-hand side of the page beneath the image.
Click the install button and it will install it for you.
It will then show you a list of demo sites you can install.
You can choose a page builder to help build your site. I will show you how to use the free version of Elementor because it is one of the most popular. Just click on Elementor. The following page will appear.
If you scroll down the page you will find this fitness theme for the page builder.
You may not be interested in fitness, but |I am just showing you how to build an affiliate marketing website. The theme is not important, we are just looking for a theme layout. You can change the images later. Just bear with me and you will see what I mean.
Remember, we are just trying to get your website up and running.

The next step is to click on appearance in the left-hand menu and click on customise. You will be taken to a page like this.

From here all you have to do is upload your logo. If you don’t have a logo, just go to a stock logo site and download one to your computer.
Next, we need to sort out the menus.
How Do You Change The Menus On Your Affiliate Website?
To do this, go to appearance in the left-hand menu and click menus.
The following page will appear.
From here, you need to drag the menu, indicated by the cross above slightly to the right. That then becomes a sub-menu or drop-down menu.
When you have done that, don’t forget to save the menu by clicking the blue button on the right-hand side.
Then you need to publish the page to save any changes that you have made.

The main thing at this stage is to keep things simple so you can get your website online.
The next thing to do is create a breadcrumb.
How To Create A Breadcrumb?
Go to the Appearance tab in the menu bar on the left and click on customise. You then need to click on breadcrumb as shown below.
The breadcrumb is shown as indicated in the image below.
It is now a good idea to disable it on every other place except a single post and singlar shown below.
It is also a good idea to clean up the rest of the site by getting rid of the metadata.
You can do this by going to single post, metadata and turning them all off.
It is also worthwhile turning off the comment metatag, there is always one at the bottom of the page.
We are now done customising the single post. I have not shown everything but we are getting close to publishing the first post.
Now let’s look at the Astra sidebar. To do this go the blog sidebar and click on sidebar.
By default, there is no sidebar. Click as shown below.
The most common place to put your sidebar is in the right of the page. If you want to customize what appears in the sidebar, go to widgets.
If you want to add a widget, just click on widget, then add widget.
It is also easy to delete widgets. Just go to widgets, scroll down and click on remove and you can delete any widget.

In order to change the footer, you need to click on Appearance then settings in the main left-hand menu and click on header footer blocks.
Click on it and the following page will appear.

You will be able to edit anything in the footer just by clicking on it. You can also drag segments to different areas.
Having a great footer will improve the look of your Affiliate Marketing Website.
One of the things you most probably want to change is the text in the contact area.
For example, if you want to change the email address, just click on the email and edit it. The same goes for the phone number. If you want to change the name Lucie Anderson, just click on the name and change it. You can change the image by clicking on the image and uploading a new one.
If you want to change the social media icons, just click on the icon and enter your details or you can just delete it.
If you want to change the background image just click on the blue tab at the top of the section as shown.
A blue border will appear around the box and a style tab will appear and click on style.
The current style image is shown as a picture on the left-hand side. You can replace it with an image that you have saved on your computer. If you don’t want an image, you can just delete the image and have a solid colour background. When you have finished, click update in the bottom left-hand corner to save the changes you have made.
How Do You Deactivate The Menu Bar?
The final stage is to deactivate some of the items in the menu bar.
This will stop people looking at anything but your blog. You want to first get followers to your blog. You can add other menu items later.
To do this click on pages on the main left-hand menu and select all of them and change them to draft.
To do this, after selecting them all, go to bulk actions drop-down menu and change to the draft.
Next, I am going to go to appearance in the main left-hand menu and click on menus.
Then I am going to change the main menu to just the blog.
You do this by creating a new menu as shown.
and call it blog navigation.
and then click on the blue save menu button on the right-hand side.
Again, click on the blue save menu button on the right-hand side.
Next, go to appearance on the left-hand menu and click on menus.
Go to the custom link area, and where it says URL, paste the URL of your blog and call it blog. underneath the URL
Then click on publish and refresh the page.
That’s it. can now start writing your blog posts.
